How many email accounts can I have on iPhone?

Apple does not publish a maximum. Its iPhone guide says you can add "one or more email accounts" to Mail, and "At any time, you can add additional email accounts to your iPhone", without naming a limit anywhere on the page (Add and remove email accounts on iPhone, read 27 September 2026). Apple's two other setup pages we read are silent on a number too (Add an email account to your iPhone or iPad and Set up mail, contacts, and calendar accounts on iPhone, both read 27 September 2026). So there is no official figure to quote. If you are asking about Hide My Email addresses rather than mail accounts, that has its own answer.

Adding another account

Open Settings, tap Apps, then Mail.
Tap Mail Accounts, then Add Account.
Enter the address. For a big provider, "choose from a list" offers services such as iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, or Gmail (Google) (the Set up mail, contacts, and calendar accounts guide).

For a provider Mail cannot set up by itself, Apple's support article adds Add Other Account → Mail Account, and, if Mail cannot find the settings, a choice of IMAP or POP plus the incoming and outgoing server details; "If you aren’t sure which one to choose, contact your email provider" (the Add an email account to your iPhone or iPad article).

Living with several

Sending from the right one. With more than one account in Mail, you pick the sending address while you compose (the Add and remove email accounts guide).
How often each one checks. An account without Push can be put on a schedule under Mail Accounts → Fetch New Data. Apple's default, Automatically, means "new data is downloaded when your iPhone is charging and connected to Wi-Fi" (same guide).
Quiet hours per account. Apple suggests Focus filters, for example to "silence notifications from your work email account on the weekends" (same guide).

Pausing versus removing

An account you only need sometimes can be switched off rather than deleted: for iCloud, turn off "Use on this iPhone"; for others, turn off Mail. Removing one is Sign Out or Delete Account, and Apple is clear about what that does not do: "This action doesn’t cancel the email account; it just removes it from your iPhone." Your mail stays with the provider (the Add and remove email accounts guide).

The limits that do show up

Without a stated cap, the practical ceiling is the phone's storage and your attention. Each account brings its own mail onto the device, and Apple counts "Mail: Emails and their attachments" among the things using iPhone storage (How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad, read 27 September 2026); how much that can be, and how to check it. The other limit belongs to each provider: the mail an account keeps on its server counts against that provider's allowance, which for a Gmail address is the Google account's storage, where Google counts "Gmail messages and attachments" (How your Google storage works, read 27 September 2026).
