How many emails can I schedule in Gmail?
Last reviewed: October 1, 2026 · Markdown version
One hundred. Gmail's schedule-send page gives the number as a tip: "You can have up to 100 scheduled emails." (Schedule emails to send, read 1 October 2026). The Android version of the page carries the same tip, word for word.
Where scheduled emails wait
They sit in their own folder, Scheduled. On a computer it is in the left panel; in the Android app you tap Menu, then Scheduled (Schedule emails to send (Android), read 1 October 2026). Count what is in there if you are near the limit.
Changing or cancelling one
Google gives no edit-in-place. Its steps for changing a scheduled email start with Cancel send: open the message from Scheduled, cancel it, make your changes, then use the arrow next to Send and pick Schedule send again with a new time. Cancelling on its own is safe, because "When you cancel a scheduled email, it becomes a draft." (same page). Nothing is lost by cancelling; it just stops being scheduled.
Two timing details worth knowing
- It may be late, a little. "Scheduled emails may be sent a few minutes after the scheduled time." Do not schedule anything where a two-minute gap matters.
- The time zone is fixed when you schedule. Google: "Your emails will be sent based on the timezone you schedule them in." If you schedule a 9 a.m. message and then fly somewhere else, it still goes at 9 a.m. where you were when you set it.
Both lines are from the Schedule emails to send page cited above.
What the page does not say
Google's schedule-send page does not say how far ahead you can schedule, and it does not say how scheduled mail is counted against Gmail's daily sending limit (Schedule emails to send, read 1 October 2026). The separate limits page gives that limit as "more than 500 emails sent in a day" for a personal account and does not mention scheduling either (Limits for sending & getting mail, read 1 October 2026). Our reading, not Google's: a scheduled email is still an email sent on the day it goes out, so 100 timed for one morning are 100 of that day's sends. If you are trying to schedule a mailing
Then the cap is the smaller problem. Every scheduled message is composed one at a time, by hand, and the queue is a list you have to manage yourself. Schedule send suits the handful of messages you want to land at a sensible hour; a newsletter belongs in a tool made for lists.
