How to delete all emails from one sender in Gmail

Last reviewed: September 23, 2026 · Markdown version

This is the cleanest mass delete there is — one sender, zero ambiguity about what you're removing. Gmail handles it in three moves, and a fourth stops that sender's mail for good.

Delete everything they've ever sent you

  1. In the search bar, type from: followed by the sender's address — Google's operator list describes from: as "Find emails sent from a specific person" (Refine searches in Gmail, read 23 September 2026). The full address (from:deals@example.com) is more precise than a name; for a name with spaces, the same page documents quotation marks for "an exact word or phrase", so from:"Big Store" keeps it together.
  2. Check the Select box at the top left — "To select all messages on the current page, at the top left, above your messages, check the Select box." — then use the notification above the messages: "To select all conversations, click the link in the notification." Now every conversation from that sender is selected, not just the first page (Delete messages in Gmail, read 23 September 2026).
  3. Click Delete. The same page: "When you delete a message in Gmail, it's moved to Trash." It stays recoverable there for up to 30 days, and after that "The message is permanently deleted."

Now stop the future ones — pick the right tool

Storage note

If storage is why you're clearing a sender, note that Google's storage page says Trash and Spam count against your storage "Until you permanently clear items in these folders", and its first cleanup tip is to delete "one or two emails with very large attachments you no longer need" (Manage your storage in Drive, Gmail & Photos, read 23 September 2026). Where our app fits

Deleting one known sender is easy. The harder part is that a cluttered mailbox has hundreds of senders, and you don't know which ones are worth clearing until you see them side by side. That view is what Adinand Email Cleaner gives you: it groups your whole mailbox by sender and shows the measured size of each group, then you clear them one tap at a time from your phone — each clear moving mail to Gmail's Trash (30-day recovery, never permanent), with one-tap unsubscribe alongside.
