# How to unsubscribe from emails in Outlook.com — Adinand Email Cleaner

**Outlook.com can unsubscribe you itself: from a single newsletter, or from a list of every subscription it has found.**

## From one newsletter

“In your inbox, select a newsletter or promotional email.” then “At the top of the reading pane, select Unsubscribe.” (Microsoft Support, [“Delete email in Outlook.com”](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/delete-email-in-outlook-com), read 28 October 2026)

## From the whole list

Outlook.com “examines incoming emails to determine if they are part of a subscription from the sender. After filtering out junk mail, it looks for subscription identifiers in the message header.” To use the list: select Settings, “Select Mail, then Subscriptions.”, then “From the list of Your current subscriptions, find the one you don’t want to receive any longer and select Unsubscribe.” and “In the confirmation window, select OK.” (Microsoft Support, [“How to manage email subscriptions in Outlook.com”](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/how-to-manage-email-subscriptions-in-outlook-com), read 28 October 2026)

## When there is no Unsubscribe option

Microsoft: “You might not have the option to unsubscribe from certain emails if they have been filtered into junk mail, if you have added them to your list of blocked senders and domains, or if they are not from the same sender.” For those, block the sender from the same list — “select the three dots next to the sender”, then “Select Block <sender>, then OK in the confirmation window.” — or Sweep them (same page). Sweep can “automatically delete all incoming email from a particular sender” (Microsoft Support, [“Organize your inbox with Archive, Sweep, and other tools in Outlook on the web”](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/organize-your-inbox-with-archive-sweep-and-other-tools-in-outlook-on-the-web), read 28 October 2026).

## What the sender receives

The Microsoft pages we read are silent on what Outlook.com actually sends to the sender when you select Unsubscribe, and on how long a sender takes to stop (Microsoft Support, [“How to manage email subscriptions in Outlook.com”](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/how-to-manage-email-subscriptions-in-outlook-com), read 28 October 2026). The *Delete email in Outlook.com* page only gives the steps (Microsoft Support, [“Delete email in Outlook.com”](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/delete-email-in-outlook-com), read 28 October 2026). Expect a few more emails while a sender processes the request.

## Where our app fits

[Adinand Email Cleaner](https://adinandemail.com/outlook) unsubscribes from your phone, sender by sender: it uses the method the sender declares in its own List-Unsubscribe header — a standard one-click request where supported, the sender’s page otherwise, or a pre-filled email — and can add an Inbox rule so anything still sent skips your inbox. On iPhone and iPad it works with Outlook.com, Microsoft work or school accounts and Gmail; the Android app works with Gmail. Processing happens on your device, the app has no servers of its own, and it asks Microsoft for headers, never message bodies. It moves mail to Deleted Items and cannot delete anything permanently. The free tier caps how much it will clean and how many rules you can keep; the [pricing section](https://adinandemail.com/#pricing) has the current numbers.
