# How many emails can I send at once in Gmail? — Adinand Email Cleaner

**For a personal Gmail account, Google publishes two numbers: 500 emails in a day, and 500 recipients in a single email.** Both are from the Gmail Help page on sending limits (read 22 September 2026), which describes the restriction as applying when you have "more than 500 emails sent in a day" or "more than 500 recipients in a single email".

## What happens when you hit one <p>Nothing dramatic and nothing permanent. Google's page says that after a limit is triggered "you should be able to send emails again within 1 to 24 hours". The stated purpose is "to help prevent spam and keep accounts safe", and the page's own suggestion for reaching a large list is Google Groups rather than a longer To field.</p> <p>Two practical notes. A single message addressed to 300 people counts as 300 against the daily figure, not as one — which is how people hit the ceiling without feeling like they have sent much. And a Google Workspace account is governed by its administrator's limits, not by the consumer numbers above.</p>

## If you are actually sending a newsletter <p>Then a personal mailbox is the wrong tool, and the limit is the least of it: no unsubscribe handling, no bounce handling, and a real chance of your ordinary mail being treated as spam afterwards. That job belongs to a mailing-list platform.</p>

## The same question about deleting has a different answer <p>Most people who ask "how many at once" in Gmail are asking about acting on mail, not sending it, and there the constraint is not a published number — it is the interface. Gmail's web view selects 50 or 100 rows at a time and then offers to extend the selection to "all conversations that match this search", which is the mechanism that makes a real clean-up possible.
