# Can I get 100 GB free on Google Drive? — Adinand Email Cleaner

**Not permanently, according to Google's own pages. The storage every account gets without paying is 15 GB; 100 GB is what a paid Google One plan starts at. The only no-charge routes to it that Google documents are offers that run out.** Google puts the standard account this way: "Every Google Account comes with up to 15 GB of cloud storage at no charge", and a paid plan raises the total "to 100 GB or more, depending on the plan you choose" ([*How your existing storage works with Google One*](https://support.google.com/googleone/answer/9004014), read 25 September 2026).

## What Google does offer: storage for a limited time <p>Google's storage page mentions it in one line: "Occasionally, you may receive more storage from a special promotion or related purchase" ([*How your Google storage works*](https://support.google.com/drive/answer/9312312), read 25 September 2026). The concrete cases Google publishes are device offers. The clearest 100 GB one on the day we read it: "The Pixel 10a includes a 3-month trial of the Google One Basic 100 GB plan", for phones bought and activated by March 31, 2027, in listed countries, and "Offer is available to new Google One members only" ([*Google One offers for Pixel devices*](https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/13529884), read 25 September 2026). The same page lists larger plans with other Pixel models. Offers like these change often; check that page on the day rather than trusting any list, this one included.</p> <p>The other route is an invitation. Google's trials page says "You can get more storage if you're invited to try Google One", and that trials are "for new customers only, unless otherwise specified" ([*Learn about Google One trials*](https://support.google.com/googleone/answer/9155746), read 25 September 2026).</p>

## The catch in every one of them <ul> <li>**You give a payment method up front.** The trials page: "A form of payment is required so that your membership can continue at the end of your trial."</li> <li>**It turns into a paid plan unless you stop it.** For the Pixel offers Google writes "To avoid being charged, you must cancel before the end of the Offer Period" (the *Google One offers for Pixel devices* page). ## What happens to your files when it ends <p>The space goes; the files stay, and that is the problem. Google says that when a promotion expires "your personal storage totals go back to what they were before the promotion" (the *How your existing storage works* page). If you filled the extra room in the meantime, you are now over quota, and the trials page spells out the result for Gmail: "You can't send or receive messages. Messages sent to you are returned to the sender."</p> <p>So in our view a time-limited 100 GB is a good way to move house — for example, to clear a full account calmly — and a bad place to keep things you are not ready to pay for.</p>

## The route that is actually free <p>Making the 15 GB go further. The usual places to look, in our view: large old attachments, Trash that has not cleared yet, and backups from devices you no longer use.
